If your perception of cruising involves images of cramped cabins, buffet lines, and the hassle of crowded ports, let us introduce you to the world of Small Ship cruises! The boutique and small-ship category includes yachts, classic sailing schooners, expedition ships, riverboats and small cruise ships. These vessels range from accommodating just 10 to about 300 passengers and involve a whole different experience, both on board and ashore. Quality-wise, they can range from casual, bareboat style to five-star luxury. Each has its own unique style and culture.
Boutique ships allow easy access to smaller, less-trafficked ports that the bigger vessels just can't get to, resulting in refreshingly unique itineraries. In Greece, for instance, Variety Cruises' ships stop in Simi and Folegandros, unusual Greek cruise ports that are mostly skipped by larger ships (and that are also difficult to get to on an island-hopping trip by ferry).
You may also find that you are traveling in the company of a more international mix of passengers, as well as a local crew that serves as an excellent source for trusted suggestions.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a “cruiser”, try out a small ship for your next travel adventure! We think you will enjoy the experience.

Today, there are over 200 cruise lines that offer small ship cruises. That is a lot of choice! Many of these cruises can be combined with a few days on land to really take advantage of the destination. We are happy to help with customized packages for before and/or after your cruise.
For U.S. citizens, one of the easiest ways to visit Cuba is by cruise ship. There are several available now, with many others awaiting permission to operate from the US and Cuba governments. Some of the most popular people-to- people offerings include:
Fathom Cruises: 7-day sailings round-trip from Miami on a ship with a capacity of 700 passengers. Fathom is a subsidiary of Carnival Cruise Lines.
Celestyal Cruises: 7-day sailings round-trip from Montego Bay, Jamaica on a ship with a capacity of 1200 passengers. Sailing from nearby Montego Bay allows for a fairly in-depth itinerary in just one week. Includes two days in Havana plus Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.
Pearl Seas Cruises: 10 night cruises round trip from Miami. The longer time allows for the inclusion of Santiago de Cuba, at the far eastern end of the island.
Panorama/Panorama II: These ships are under charter with various tour operators and offer a small ship (46 passengers) experience with itineraries from Havana to Cienfuegos or Cienfuegos to Havana.
Empress of the Seas/Royal Caribbean: currently awaiting permission to sail from Miami.
Due to the “people to people” requirement for US citizens, most cruises to Cuba are sold with all Shore Excursions included in the fare, making them appear more costly than non-Cuba itineraries. Please call CTCAdventures to enquire about specific ships, dates and prices. 1-888- 711-4500.
Why book a cruise with CTCAdventures?
We are confident we can enhance your travel experience – while saving you money at the same time.
Cruise Line Connections: Although CTCAdventures is a boutique company, we belong to one of the largest travel agency consortiums in North America (a division of the Travel Leaders Group). Our preferred status with many cruise lines enables us to have access to discounted group rates and exclusive cruise pricing. In addition, we can sometimes offer you extra-value amenities -- such as prepaid gratuities, shipboard credits, and other perks.
More than A Cruise: Choosing a cruise is not the same as picking a hotel or flight, as there are many more options to consider. We need to consider together which ship, which cabin, how you get there, what you do before and after, as well as what you do in the ports during the cruise. The right ship and itinerary can make your adventure that much more enjoyable -- and we can help you determine the best selection for your lifestyle and budget. In addition, we can help with the rest of your plans such as airline flights, local transfers, tours and pre- or post-cruise stays. Many of our clients choose to spend a few days in the destination before or after the cruise and we are happy to create custom itineraries for those stopovers as well.
Our Service is Free: One of the most important things to know is that you won't pay anything for our services and expertise as the cruise lines will pay us a commission for each booking.
We look forward to helping you plan your next adventure!
